LWSD Dyslexia Group Meeting: May 10, 2011 (Tuesday) @ 7pm-8:30pm
The LWSD Dyslexia Group (a sub-group of the LWSD PTSA Special Needs Group) invites parents of dyslexic students and students struggling to read, to a presentation on Assistive Technology for dyslexics and other students struggling to read by Beth Gatewood. Beth is a computer programmer and a parent of a 6th grade dyslexic son. There will also be time to network with each other and ask questions. Location: LWSD Resource Center, Hughes Room, 16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond, WA 98052.
The LWSD Dyslexia Group’s goals are to:
- Educate: We want to educate LWSD administrators, staff, and parents about dyslexia and the many recent research findings.
- Advocate: A Dyslexia Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meets monthly with the District. All parents are welcome to attend.
- Communicate: We want to share our stories and support parents of students with dyslexia to help our children navigate the school environment and resources.
