PACIFIC SCIENCE CENTER – FORENSICS 101: Your mission: acquire the scientific skills to solve crimes. Focus on fingerprints, crack codes, decipher handwriting, use chromatography to investigate a crime scene, analyze fibers, delve into DNA evidence and practice your observations skills – can you tell if someone is lying? How much can you remember about an event? Then, use all your forensic skills to solve the mystery of whole stole the butterfly chrysalises!

WEDNESDAY CLASSES
CARTOONIVERSITY: Local editorial cartoonist, Jeff Johnson, is back! Kids will learn all aspects of cartoon drawing including character development, facial expressions, exaggeration, action/movement, layout, background, perspective and much more.

MUSEO ART – SCULPTURE AND CLAY: Students will get the opportunity to work with many materials from ceramic clay to found objects as they create pieces that reflect their individuality. The instructor will lead them in understanding the components of the materials and guide them step-by-step through many sculpting techniques.

THURSDAY CLASSES
BRICKS 4 KIDZ: This is a hands-on class where students will design and build machines, catapults, pyramids, derby cars, buildings and other constructions out of LEGO bricks. While exploring engineering, architecture and physics, students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. Participants build a new project each month. Architectural concepts are taught while assembling buildings, bridges and other structures. Once the project is completed, children use the rest of their time to expand their gadgets and collaborate with one another.

PACIFIC SCIENCE CENTER – AMAZING ANIMALS: Explore the birds, beasts and bugs from our fossilized past and from our everyday life. What did the owl eat for lunch? From butterflies to cockroaches, shark teeth to animal adaptations, put your investigative skills to the test as you unearth fossils, meet live insects, make animal tracks and even create your own specially adapted “futuristic” animal. Its Animals – from A to Z!
